Our core Focus

At Crusoe Contemporary, we focus on contemporary art, with a strong emphasis on street art and pop art. These exciting genres stand out with their bold visuals and cultural significance, consistently challenging the status quo.
Our expertise allows us to guide both seasoned collectors and newcomers in finding artworks that resonate with their personal tastes and reflect modern culture. Whether you're drawn to the boldness of street art or the vibrancy of pop art, we're here to help you explore and appreciate the best of contemporary art.

why the name crusoe

The name Crusoe represents the journey of exploration and discovery, much like navigating the art world. Just as Robinson Crusoe braved unfamiliar territory, many art collectors—whether new or seasoned—can feel like outsiders in a world that often seems closed off. When I first visited galleries, I felt the same, and it’s something we aim to change.
At Crusoe Contemporary, we believe that art should be accessible to everyone. Whether you're a first-time buyer or a seasoned collector, building a personal art collection should be an enjoyable and fulfilling experience. We’re passionate about making the art world approachable, helping collectors find pieces that reflect who they are, while also showing how art can be a meaningful investment.

how we came to be

As avid art collectors ourselves, we became obsessed with finding ways to make the art collecting process more relaxed and seamless. Our passion for discovering incredible pieces led us to create Crusoe Contemporary, with a mission to make every collector's journey enjoyable and accessible, from the first discovery to building a unique collection.

our space

We are proud to work out of Fetcham Park, a stunning Grade II* listed house that perfectly contrasts our focus on contemporary art. Rooted in history, the building dates back to the 16th century, with gardens originally designed by George London and interiors featuring murals by renowned artist Louis Laguerre. This historic setting juxtaposes strikingly with the modern, vibrant art we showcase.
Our vision is to turn Fetcham Park into a contemporary art hub in Surrey, offering access to works typically seen in major London galleries. Here, history and modernity meet, providing an inspiring space for both collectors and art enthusiasts.

Meet the Team

Art has always been a part of my life—my grandfather was a lifelong framer, and spending time in his studio sparked my early love for it. After school, I was eager to dive into the art world, though I quickly realised framing wasn’t for me (I like to joke that my brother got the hands-on skills, and I got the brains!). My passion for art is constant, but I balance it with my love for sports—playing tennis year-round, cricket in the summer, and enjoying a beer with my father at Craven Cottage, where we support Fulham FC together.

Director

I started as a passionate street and pop art collector, which quickly led me to a career in galleries. However, I found the art market too focused on transactions rather than connections. This inspired me to create Crusoe Contemporary, where we curate art that’s personal and meaningful for our clients, regardless of their experience. Outside of art, I love running and spending time with my partner, our son, and our daughter, who are now just as passionate about our growing collection. My goal at Crusoe is to make discovering art an enjoyable, personal experience for everyone.

Miguel Reis

Director

I’ve held senior roles at companies like Panasonic and several major auction houses throughout my 50-year career. As a Senior Consultant at Crusoe Contemporary, I bring my extensive business experience to offer guidance and advice on our advisory services. Outside of work, I’m a lifelong Fulham FC fan and have a passion for cars and sports, which keep me busy when I’m not consulting on the art market. I’m proud to be part of Crusoe Contemporary, helping collectors navigate their art journey.
